I started working as a copywriter in 1992. My first job was with Maa Communications, Bengaluru. Then I worked at McCann-Erickson, Bengaluru and Mumbai; Rhizic Advertising, Mumbai; JWT, Mumbai; Afkar Promoseven, Amman; and Asatsu-DK Advertising, Singapore. I was with Asatsu-DK – later ADK – for 14 years, from 1998 to 2014, with a short break in 1999, when I went for an assignment with Afkar Promoseven in Jordan. At the time I joined ADK, it was called Nexus-Asatsu, a great place to work started by two intrepid ad professionals.
I have written and developed communications for several brands including: Poh Heng Jewellery, Singapore Traffic Police, Shiseido, Close-Up Toothpaste, Taj Hotels, Air Mauritius, and Coca-Cola.
I have a post graduate diploma in Mass Communications and a BA in English (Honours).
