Since 2019, my partner at Writers Block and I have been writing, editing, collating, and managing all the content for The Dubai Sugar Conference, which is held every year around February/March, and is considered one of the preeminent events in the world sugar calendar. We work long distance, from Singapore.
From conceptualizing the theme of the conference to dotting every i and crossing each t in print or digital is our responsibility.
This year, the theme was “A time for sugar. A moment to be seized.”
We write the various collateral materials, such as sponsorship brochures, email invites and updates, conference brochure, and exhibition panels. Of course, we write the content for the website and the conference app.
We ensure that all the information is gathered and communicated accurately. This entails sifting through press releases, websites, speaker resumes, sponsor profiles, and more… and then writing, re-writing, editing, proofreading, uploading content onto the website, working with the app creators and brochure printers based in Dubai, updating information on an ongoing basis, tackling last minute changes. Sleepless nights are a given.
